Home / Covered Decks & Screened Porches
A deck with a roof, or a fully screened room, built by Deck Haven for homes across King of Prussia, the Main Line and Montgomery and Chester County.
Shade, rain and no bugs
A covered deck is a deck with a roof attached to the house. A screened porch adds screen walls so you can eat outside without the bugs. Either way, you get shade in July, dry evenings when it rains and a space that feels like part of the house.
Choose your space
A roof over all or part of your deck for shade and rain cover, with open sides for the view.
Screen walls and a screen door so you can eat and relax outside without bugs.
Finished ceilings with fans and lighting so the space works day and night.
Fortress steel posts and beams carry the roof and won’t rot, warp or twist.

Sometimes. A roof adds a lot of weight, so the existing footings and framing have to be strong enough to carry it. We inspect your deck first. Often the best answer is new footings and posts for the roof, or rebuilding the deck on a frame designed for it.
It depends on the size, the roof style, the ceiling finish and whether you add screens, fans or lighting. A roof adds framing, roofing and permit work, so it costs more than an open deck. We measure and give you a free written estimate with options.
Yes. A roof structure attached to your house needs a building permit in Pennsylvania townships. We prepare the drawings, pull the permit and schedule the inspections.
Yes. We match the roof pitch, shingles or metal roofing, trim and gutters to your house so the covered deck looks like it was always there.
If you mainly want shade and rain cover with an open view, choose a covered deck. If bugs keep you inside on summer evenings, a screened porch is worth it. Many homeowners screen part of the space and leave the rest open.
